Coach Profile – Dallas Couvée

Dallas Couvée has been coaching swimmers of all ages for 15 years. She holds the Swimming New Zealand Assistant Swim Teacher Award (ASTA) and Level 1 and Level 2 Swim Safe Coaching qualifications.

Dallas has a long history with Mount Maunganui Amateur Swimming Club, joining the Club at just four years of age, back when our swimmers trained at the Cosy Corner Holiday Park pool on Oceanbeach Road. Dallas was with the Club when it moved to Mount Maunganui College Pool, training as a competitive swimmer until she was 16.

She remains the over-16 female Club champion in the Club’s annual 1500-metre freestyle challenge. Dallas is a life member of Mount Maunganui Amateur Swimming Club, and is highly committed to developing swimming for all our members both as a life skill, as a competitive sport and also as a pathway into other aquatic sports. She especially  values the role of the Club as a community-based organisation, and acknowledges the work ethic and dedication of all swimmers, particularly those who choose the competitive pathway.
