EXCITING TIMES AHEAD FOR MOUNT MAUNGANUI SWIM CLUB

We are very excited to inform you that over the last few weeks the Mt Maunganui Swim Club Board, Sheryl McLay of Shorebreak Aquatics and Coach Stan Teokotai-White have been working closely to develop a full merger between the two entities. The new entity will be known as The Mt Maunganui Swimming Club. This has been a big process but one that we feel will benefit the clubs, their programmes and most importantly our swimmers.

Coach Stan will be the head coach assisted by Sheryl, with the intention of Sheryl gradually reducing her number of coaching hours.

The new structure will be developed over the next few weeks and months as we emerge from Covid19 lockdown and beyond, utilising all the lanes available to us.

Please rest assured although some of the structure of the squads may change on return to the pool our aim is to have a smooth transition back to swimming, allowing the goals of each swimmer to be achieved, whether it is fitness, sport specific or competitive swimming.

We see this as an exciting and positive way forward for both entities, providing a comprehensive swimming programme for our wider aquatic sport community.

Many thanks

Mt Maunganui Swim Club Board
